KISS bassist and co-lead singer, Gene Simmons, has announced that he will accept cryptocurrency as payment for his luxury Las Vegas estate that was listed on the market for $13.5 million.

Simmons said that he will accept crypto such as “Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Uniswap, Polkadot, Aave or Try, or a combination of those” for his 11,000 square feet home in the mountain-mansion Ascaya community.

The estate was originally listed in October last year for almost $14.95 million and dropped its price the next month. Slash told the Review-Journal on Tuesday that he loves the place, but there are “quite a few newly minted rich folks who are very young.”

Simmons bought the house for $10.8 million in 2021, but as the musician explained to The Wall Street Journal, he and his family didn’t end up staying in Vegas much. They preferred their other homes in California and Canada.

Cryptocurrency continues to grow as an alternative form of payment in art and real estate industries and the 72-year-old rocker has been interested in crypto, especially Bitcoin since 2017. Simmons said in a statement reported by Blabbermouth on Tuesday, February 1:

“I have been an outspoken proponent of cryptocurrency from the beginning. It is the future of money, and it just makes sense to offer interested parties the option of using cryptocurrency to purchase the estate.”

In February 2021, he announced on his Twitter account that he “bought and/or will own” Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and moments later he commented that he had also bought Dogecoin, XRP, and others. Almost three weeks after his first crypto investment, he commented on Twitter that he bought $300,000 of Cardano (ADA).
