The residence in Milton, Georgia, once owned by the late Gary Rossington, the guitarist of Lynyrd Skynyrd, is now available for purchase at $12 million.
Cynthia Chandlee from Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s is the listing agent, showcasing numerous images of the property, including the 80-acre estate.
Rossington, a founding member of the iconic Southern rock band in 1964 and the sole original member until his passing at the age of 71 in March 2023, resided in this home for three decades.
The estate comprises a main house, a guest house, two barns, and a private lake with two boat docks. The main residence spans 7,516 square feet, featuring five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a custom-built pool and spa, as well as a natural waterfall. See Gary Rossington’s house below.
Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Decision to Continue Without Gary Rossington
One month following Gary Rossington’s demise, Lynyrd Skynyrd communicated a challenging choice to persist in their touring endeavors. In their statement, the band expressed:
“After much discussion with the band, the families of Ronnie Van Zant and Allen Collins, and Dale Rossington, the collective has reached unified support. [They] feel that continuing to perform live, and keeping the music alive, is in the best interest of the fans and everyone involved.”
They believe that maintaining live performances and preserving the music is in the best interest of the fans and all parties involved.
Meanwhile, the group announced in October 2023 that they would be touring with their buddies in ZZ Top for the second consecutive summer. The 2024 Sharp Dressed Simple Man Tour is set to begin in Savannah on March 8.
