“I’m Just Shocked.”

Everyone certainly has an opinion on the controversial situation of AC/DC — you know, having Guns ‘n Roses frontman Axl Rose as their guest vocalist. Maybe it’s because we’re so used to seeing and hearing Brian Johnson belt out the energy-packed, fast-paced songs. You see, over the past few weeks, we’ve heard various musicians weigh in on this: whether Axl can pull it off or even rival Brian’s stage presence and performance. The latest of these includes Simon Wright who used to be the drummer of both AC/DC and Dio. If you can recall, he joined the Australian rock band after Phil Rudd left in 1983 and has even recorded three albums with them.

On May 22, Simon joined the “Ride For Ronnie” motorcycle rally and concert in California where he was interviewed Argentinean journalist Lucas H. Gordon. Simon had this to say:

“Like he [Brian] said, I’m just glad for him that he’s not really, really badly injured and that he’s doing okay and I wish him the best of luck. And Axl seems to be doing… I saw a couple of [clips online and] Axl seems to be doing okay. It seemed really weird at first, but when you watch it, he’s giving it his all and he seems to have a big respect for the band and the fans and everything. So it seems to be going along…”

We couldn’t agree more.
