The Doobie Brothers have announced that they will add 30 more dates in the United States as part of their 50th-anniversary tour.

For the first time in 25 years, lead singer Tom Johnston, singer and keyboardist Michael McDonald, and guitarists Patrick Simmons and John McFee are all performing together. The 50th-anniversary tour will kick off this June and will last until October this year.

Meanwhile, Johnston expressed his excitement in a recent statement. He said:

“We are thrilled to be back on the road in 2023 playing some cities we haven’t gotten to yet on this tour.”

While Simmons has previously said:

“Having all of us together doing these shows I think creates more of a mystique. People are getting it. They realize, ‘Hey, I’ve gotta go see these guys. Gosh, it was the ’70s and now they’re in their 70s!’

“I know for me personally, it’s just plain fun. It always has been, but this is one of those memorable moments in my life and career, having these two guys playing together with me. It’s certainly something that I’ll carry with me forever.”
