Tensions between President Donald Trump and rock icon Bruce Springsteen resurfaced this week after a series of public remarks and social media posts reignited their long-running feud. The exchange followed comments made during Springsteen’s current concert tour, where the musician openly criticized the president and his administration from the stage.
Trump first addressed Springsteen in a lengthy message shared Thursday morning on Truth Social, criticizing the singer’s political views and performances. Later that night, he posted a shorter message on X that drew attention online. “Is Bruce Springsteen going to sue his plastic surgeon?” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Public Criticism Sparks Renewed Exchange
The late-night remark followed Trump’s earlier post, which included sharper personal criticism of the performer. “Bad and very boring singer, Bruce Springsteen, who looks like a dried up prune who has suffered greatly from the work of a really bad plastic surgeon, has long had a horrible and incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, sometimes referred to as TDS,” he wrote. “The guy is a total loser who spews hate against a President who won a Landslide Election, including the popular vote, all Seven Swing States, and 86% of the Counties across America.
“Under Sleepy Joe and the Dems, our Country was DEAD, and now we have the ‘hottest’ Country, by far, anywhere in the World,” he continued. “MAGA SHOULD BOYCOTT HIS OVERPRICED CONCERTS, WHICH SUCK. SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. AMERICA IS BACK!!! President DJT.”
The comments came as Springsteen continued performances on his “Land of Hope and Dreams” tour, where he has made clear that political themes would be part of his live shows. The singer has often used concerts to address social and political issues, a practice that has defined much of his public image over the decades.
Tour Speech Draws Strong Reaction
According to Loudersound.com, Springsteen delivered a direct message to fans before performing at the Target Center in Minneapolis on March 31. Speaking to the audience before the music began, he addressed both global concerns and domestic politics.
“I want to begin the night with a prayer for our men and women in the service overseas,” he told the crowd. “We pray for their safe return. The mighty E Street Band is here tonight to call upon the righteous power of art, of music, of rock ‘n’ roll, in dangerous times. We are here in celebration and defense of our American ideals, democracy, our Constitution, and our sacred American promise.
“The America that I love, the America that I’ve written about for 50 years, that’s been a beacon of hope and liberty around the world, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, racist, reckless, and treasonous administration,” he continued. “Tonight we ask all of you to join with us in choosing hope over fear, democracy over authoritarianism, the rule of law over lawlessness, ethics over unbridled corruption, resistance over complacency, unity over division, and peace over war.”
The exchange marks another chapter in a rivalry that intensified in 2025, with both figures trading public criticism. With Springsteen continuing his tour and Trump remaining active online, the dispute shows little sign of slowing.
