Sammy Hagar and Def Leppard have been selected among 31 entertainment professionals to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
This prestigious recognition is awarded by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and covers various fields such as movies, TV, music, and sports.
The selection panel, comprised of previous Walk of Fame recipients, meticulously chose these individuals from a vast pool of nominees. And they look forward to seeing the honorees’ reactions as they become part of Hollywood’s history by having their stars unveiled on the famous walkway.
Notably, the announcement was made by the Chamber’s president and a radio personality named Ellen K. The Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2024 includes notable names from various fields.
In the recording category, honored figures included Glen Ballard, known for collaborations with artists like Alanis Morissette, Michael Jackson, and Christina Aguilera. Toni Braxton, a talented singer-songwriter with seven Grammy Awards, and the legendary rock band Def Leppard, with over 100 million records sold globally, were among the honorees.
Charles Fox, a renowned songwriter for films and TV shows, Brandy Norwood, known for hit singles and TV/film work, and Darius Rucker, a country music singer-songwriter, and Sammy Hagar, a prominent rock singer-songwriter. Gwen Stefani, lead vocalist of No Doubt, and Dr. Dre, a highly influential rapper and producer were also honored.
Recipients have two years to schedule their star ceremonies, and these events are usually announced on the official Walk of Fame website about ten days in advance. The Walk of Fame is a famous sidewalk in Los Angeles that has over 2,700 stars dedicated to celebrities from the entertainment industry.
