David Lee Roth surprised the world when he responded yes to Sammy Hagar’s upcoming tour invitation.
Only last week, Hagar announced their upcoming tour during his guesting at The Howard Stern Show. Hagar and founding Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony will be hitting the road together for the Best of All Worlds tour alongside Jason Bonham and Joe Satriani.
During his conversation with the host, Howard Stern, Hagar can be heard saying:
“If Alex Van Halen wants to jump up, if David Lee Roth wants to come out and join us, come on, motherfucker.”
He added:
“You are welcome. This is about Van Halen.”
Today, it was reported via Van Halen News Desk that Roth seems to have accepted the invitation declaring that he is “Ready to go,” and saying “Let’s do this.”
However, the site also said, that until now they haven’t heard a word from Hagar’s side nor received any formal invitation.
Although the two singers have a tainted past, we cannot argue that the two have remained professional for the sake of their fans, be it by recording a new album or doing tours together. If the developing story continues, The Best of All Worlds tour might be their first show together after quite some time.
With or without Roth, the tour is scheduled to kick off July 13 in West Palm Beach.
