While en route to a back-to-back Guns ‘n Roses concert in Mexico City last Wednesday, April 20, a group of fans met an accident on the Mexico-Queretaro highway at kilometer 81. 35-year-old Mauricio Ballesteros Zamora was killed instantly after suffering internal injuries and head trauma. The 29 other passengers were injured and brought to the Mexican Social Security Institute, three of them sustained serious injuries. The official Twitter page of Guns ‘n Roses immediately sent out the band’s statement offering condolences to the loved ones of Mauricio.

Bassist Duff McKagan also posted his message for the Zamora family.
I am extremely saddened to hear of the awful bus crash yesterday en route to our MC show. To the Zamora family…I have no words. — Duff McKagan (@DuffMcKagan) April 21, 2016
There are speculations that one of the possible causes of the overturned bus is over-speeding on the wet roadway. It’s still to be proven. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Zamora family.
