Singer Suffered Fall Late Last Night
Singer-songwriter Phil Collins has been forced to postpone a pair of London shows after a severe fall late last night left him hospitalized and under observation at a local hospital. The 66-year-old Collins was slated to perform at London’s Royal Albert Hall tonight and tomorrow evening, but a condition called ‘drop foot,’ the result of a back operation, that makes it difficult to walk caused Collins to slip in his hotel room last night while on the way to the toilet and hit his head on a chair.
Collins was rushed to a local hospital where he received stitches for a ‘severe gash’ on his head close to his eye, and according to management will be under close observation for the next 24 hours. A statement was issued early this morning via Facebook:
Ouch, that’s gotta hurt. Here’s to a speedy recovery for Phil Collins, who vows to be back onstage in Cologne, Germany on Sunday night to resume the rest of his tour and has already begun plotting his big return to London this fall to give fans the show they’ve been waiting for. Get well soon, Phil!
