Blue Oyster Cult is set to release their new album in over three years, Ghost Stories, on April 12.

The upcoming LP will feature various songs released between 1978 and 1983 which were all initially recorded on reel-to-reel analog tape and have now been transferred to digital audio. George Geranios, the band’s original audio engineer, produced the songs, along with Steve Schenck and the band’s bassist Richie Castellano.

The first single “So Supernatural” has already been released. In a band’s statement, they described Ghost Stories as a “fitting finale” to their “recording legacy.” The new album is now available for pre-order.

In 2020, Blue Oyster Cult remained busy releasing the albums The Symbol Remains, the live album Hard Rock Live Cleveland 2014, and a remastered version of Cult Classic.

This year, they are scheduled for half a dozen tour dates which will kick off on March 9 in Lincoln City, Oregon.
