Every artist has that one song they love the most
Billy Joel has always been known for his incredible ability to write and craft beautiful songs. Over his storied career he’s had so many hits, sold out Madison Square Garden multiple times and has become very lovable as a performer!
Recently, Billy was on Stephen Colbert’s talk show to promote his upcoming stadium tour across the United States. While on the show, Billy was asked about his favorite songs that he’s written. Colbert asked Billy to name his five favorites and rank them, and after tough consideration, Billy was able to name five songs that he’s written that he loves!
Billy’s list included some of his top hits, favorite to perform live and some of his best deep cuts. His list was:
5. “Vienna”
4. “And So It Goes”
3. “You May Be Right”
2. “She’s Right On Time”
1. “Scenes From An Italian Restaurant”
Not a bad list from Billy! Actually, “Scenes From An Italian Restaurant” happens to be one of my favorites as well! Billy reveals that he is more of an “album track guy” before he makes the list, but you have some hits on there as well! It’s a good mix. The interview also includes some great stories about how he broke into a Jimi Hendrix show, and how he built a motorcycle for Bruce Springsteen that ended up breaking down!
