Get ready to rock, AC/DC fans! Brian Johnson, the lead singer of the iconic rock band, has just unleashed some exciting news that will have you counting down the days. In a recent interview on the Fuelling Around podcast, Johnson shared his enthusiasm for the prospect of hitting the road again to support AC/DC’s latest album, Power Up, released in 2020.

The band, which hasn’t graced the stage in over seven years, is set to headline the Power Trip festival in California this October.

This performance has sparked hope among fans for a series of electrifying shows to follow. Johnson shed light on the challenges AC/DC faced in regrouping after the onset of the pandemic in 2020.

“I’m so excited because three years ago we did get together [before] Power Up the album came out,” Johnson shared on the podcast. “Honestly, I’ve never heard the band so tight. For three weeks, I think we had one day off because we wanted to be there in each other’s company.”

However, the pandemic threw a wrench into their plans.

Johnson explained,

“You know what happened there. Angus [Young] and Phil, New Zealand, and Australia just wouldn’t let them out for months and months afterward.”

Despite the hurdles, Johnson expressed optimism:

“It does take a lot of time to get a band like AC/DC together again. The most important thing about it all is the eagerness we all feel, the juices are running again.”

As for the Power Trip festival.

Johnson shared his excitement:

“We decided to do this wonderful show that they’ve put together out in the desert near Palm Springs, near Coachella.”

He added:

“It’s all rock and roll bands. It’s fantastic. It’s going to be in a beautiful valley, near Coachella, but I don’t get involved in that kind of thing. I just like to turn up, get up and just rock my little socks off until I drop.”

Johnson also teased the star-studded lineup, saying,

“Ozzy [Osbourne] is coming out of retirement so I’ll be able to see my old pals again. The GUNS N’ ROSES boys, the METALLICA boys, and the IRON MAIDEN boys — all in one field. Boy, what a party!”

So, AC/DC fans, get ready for a rock ‘n’ roll revival as the band gears up for what promises to be an unforgettable global tour. The anticipation is building, and with Brian Johnson at the helm, you can bet that AC/DC will once again set stages ablaze around the world.
