The tribute show for the late Foo Fighters drummer, Taylor Hawkins, had featured several iconic rock bands and musicians in one stage. One of the acts included in the tour’s lineup is the AC/DC lead singer Brian Johnson.

The singer recently shared a statement about his involvement in the show, in which he also praised the late drummer’s instrumental talent. Hawkins saddened the world with his sudden death on March 25. He was found unresponsive in his hotel room in Bogotá, Colombia, where the band had been touring. Although a preliminary toxicology report revealed the presence of different substances in his body, no official cause of death has been given.

Shortly after his passing, Hawkins’ family and his Foo Fighters bandmates announced the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Shows to honor the late musician. The first show recently took place on September 3 at London’s Wembley Stadium and on September 27 at The Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. The London event had feature Johnson, Lars Ulrich, Travis Barker, Liam Gallagher, Wolf Van Halen, and many more.

Part of announcing his inclusion in the aid tribute show, Johnson praised Hawkins by referring to his lovely character and widely-appreciated instrumental skills. He described his drumming style as intense and brilliant. Then, he stated that he was honored to be involved in such a special event. He seems sure that all the participants and the surviving Foo Fighters members will do their best to pay a powerful tribute to Hawkins. The rocker said:

“Okay, here we go. Taylor was a lovely man; his smile was legend, his drumming intense and brilliant, and he could sing as well. When we gather to salute this man and his family, we do it as friends, we do it for him, and we do it with his band, the Foo Fighters, who I know will do him proud. (Ambien) I’m honored to be part of it.”

The next schedule that will be held in Los Angeles will also feature many prominent names in the music industry. Sebastian Bach, Def Leppard’s Phil Collen and Joe Elliott, Miley Cyrus, John Paul Jones, Gene Simmons, and Nikki Six, to name some.
