Metallica has been around for 40 years now, and throughout their musical career, they had experienced a lot of crazy things that happened during their concerts. But just recently, one of the most unforgettable moment happened during their show at Estádio Couto Pereira in Curitiba, Brazil on May 7.
A fan named Joice M. Figueiró attended the concert while she was 39 weeks pregnant and started to go into labor during the end of the band’s set. Medical personnel urgently assisted her and were intended to get here to a nearby hospital, but the plan was abandoned when they all realized how close the delivery was. So as Metallica performed their final encore, “Enter Sandman,” Figueiró delivered her son, Luan, in the stadium.
Figueiró, who was cleared by doctors to attend the show, told The Washington Post:
“It was a mix of emotions. But there’s also the feeling of being able to tell people that this happened because Metallica is one of the bands we love the most.”
Metallica became aware about the good news that happened during their show and they all congratulated the new mom in a series of Instagram stories. While, frontman James Hetfield took a step further and surprised the baby’s parents with a phone call. Watch the video below.
