Uriah Heep Is Officially Saying Goodbye

British rock icons Uriah Heep have officially announced their farewell tour, marking the end of an era for the legendary band. In a heartfelt video message, Mick Box, the group’s last surviving original member, shared the news with fans.

“Who can believe next year is 55 years since the band started, and that’s just so amazing,” Box remarked, reflecting on the band’s long and storied career. “I know many of you have been with us since the beginning, and we do thank you for that. It means the world to us.” He went on to reveal that the band has made the difficult decision to wrap up their global touring next year, under the fitting title “The Magician’s Farewell.”
Tour dates are set to be announced in February 2025, with Box hinting at an extensive tour. “Over the next two to three years, we intend to play as many places as possible and see you all for the one last time,” he said, expressing his deep gratitude to fans.
“On behalf of the band and myself, I wanna thank you all for the continued support you have always given us. It means so much to us.”
The Enduring Rock Legacy of Uriah Heep
Uriah Heep is widely regarded as a pioneer of hard rock, heavy metal, and progressive rock. Their rise to fame in the 1970s was marked by hits like “Easy Livin’” from Demons and Wizards (1972). Other well-known tracks include “Gypsy,” “The Wizard,” “Stealin’,” and “Sweet Lorraine.”
With a remarkable 25 studio albums released throughout their career, Uriah Heep’s most recent work, Chaos & Colour, came out in 2023.
Alongside Mick Box, the band’s current lineup features Bernie Shaw on vocals, Phil Lanzon on keyboards, Russell Gilbrook on drums, and Dave Rimmer on bass. As they embark on their final tour, Uriah Heep’s legacy as one of the greats in rock history remains undeniable.
