Again, it’s the Rolling Stones! The band recently won Best Rock Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards for their album Hackney Diamonds, which was their first original release in eighteen years. This is the second time they have won Best Rock Album and their first Grammy since 2018.
Tough Competition, Big Victory
Pearl Jam’s Dark Matter, Green Day’s Saviors, The Black Crowes’ Happiness Bastards, IDLES’ Tangk, Jack White’s No Name, and Fontaines D.C.’s Romance—one of the most critically acclaimed albums of 2024—were among the formidable contenders the Stones faced in the Best Rock Album category. Even so, The Rolling Stones prevailed, showing that even after more than 50 years of music, they still can catch both new and devoted fans.
For Hackney Diamonds, this is not their first Grammy honor. Their debut single “Angry” was nominated for Best Rock Song last year, indicating that the album was already causing a stir in the music business. The Rolling Stones had a stellar Grammy career, having won four of their fourteen nominations, received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 1987, and been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame several times.
A Legendary Comeback
The Rolling Stones proved that they still had what it takes to rule the music scene with Hackney Diamonds. They returned to the top thanks to the record, full of new energy and vintage Stones swagger. Their album-supporting 2024 tour was also a huge success, bringing in sold-out audiences and creating international buzz.
The fact that Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and the gang are still unstoppable after decades in the industry is demonstrated by this Grammy award, adding up to several outstanding musical awards. Who knows? It’s possible that their next major release won’t be 18 years away! This Grammy is evidence that the Rolling Stones are still at the top of their game and are not slowing down at all.
