The Guess Who Are Finally Reuniting For A Massive 2026 U.S. Tour

After decades of shifting lineups, legal battles, and long stretches apart, The Guess Who are officially back on the road. The legendary Canadian rock band has revealed the North American leg of its long-awaited reunion tour, signaling a full-scale return for founding forces Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings.

The newly announced shows expand the group’s ongoing Takin’ It Back outing and follow the previously confirmed slate of Canadian dates. With renewed momentum and a catalog of classic hits behind them, the band appears ready to remind audiences why their music has endured for generations.

Expanding the Takin’ It Back Tour

The upcoming run of shows will feature former Eagles guitarist Don Felder as the opening act, adding another classic-rock heavyweight to the bill. The newly announced dates join 12 previously scheduled performances in Canada.

The U.S. leg of the tour is set to launch on June 25 in Shakopee, Minnesota, before continuing across the country through Aug. 22, when the band is currently scheduled to close the run in Seattle, Washington. Tickets will go on sale Friday, March 6, with a presale beginning Wednesday, March 4. Additional details and ticket information are available through the band’s official website.

For longtime fans, the tour represents something far more meaningful than just another set of concert dates—it marks the long-delayed reunion of two of the band’s most important architects.

A Legal Fight for the Band’s Legacy

The road to this reunion was far from simple. Nearly a year ago, Bachman and Cummings revealed that they intended to reclaim the Guess Who name and tour together again. Their plans followed a contentious legal dispute over the rights to use the band’s identity, which began when they filed a lawsuit in late 2023.

In April 2024, Cummings took a dramatic step in the battle by withdrawing the performance rights to songs he had written. The move effectively prevented any touring lineup that did not include the original members from performing those tracks.

Since Cummings penned a significant portion of The Guess Who’s best-known material, the decision created steep financial risks for the version of the band that had been touring without its founders. Playing those songs could have resulted in substantial penalties, making it nearly impossible for that lineup to continue on the road.

By September 2024, the legal dispute had finally been resolved, clearing the path for Bachman and Cummings to move forward with their long-rumored reunion.

The Return of a Classic Partnership

Bachman first hinted at the scale of the comeback during a March 2025 interview with American Songwriter, suggesting the pair had ambitious plans for the band’s next chapter.

“[Burton is] finishing up his stuff this year, I’m finishing up my BTO stuff,” he said. “And we have a plan for 2026 to be the Guess Who, where … we do a set list of about 30 hit songs, and it’s probably gonna be a two- or three-hour Springsteen kind of marathonic show. And we’re all geared to do that in 2026. It’ll be the unveiling of ‘The Guess Who are back.’”

That vision has now become reality. Bachman and Cummings played their first concerts together in 23 years beginning with a performance in Niagara Falls at the end of January. The reunited group most recently appeared onstage in Hollywood, Florida, on March 1.

Reflecting on that emotional return, Bachman described the moment to Rolling Stone in simple but powerful terms.

“It’s surreal in many ways,” he said. “Our songs have become the soundtracks to people’s lives. We look out from the stage and they know every word of them.”

For a band whose music helped define late-’60s and early-’70s rock radio, that reaction is perhaps the clearest reminder of their legacy. Decades after their biggest hits first dominated the airwaves, audiences are still singing along—proving that the connection between The Guess Who and their listeners never really faded. If anything, the reunion tour suggests that the story of the band is entering a new chapter rather than simply revisiting an old one.
