On July 17, 2025, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham surprised fans by posting coordinated Instagram messages. Nicks posted “And if you go forward…,” and Buckingham replied, “I’ll meet you there.” Together, those lines form the opening chorus to their 1973 track “Frozen Love,” from their pre‑Fleetwood Mac album Buckingham Nicks. This marks the first public social media interaction between them since Buckingham’s departure from Fleetwood Mac in 2018 following a rupture in their professional and personal relationship.
Nostalgia in the Air
The duo’s album Buckingham Nicks never charted, was quickly removed from circulation, and has never been officially reissued. Still, the song “Frozen Love” attracted Mick Fleetwood’s interest at Sound City Studios, leading to the duo’s invitation to join Fleetwood Mac, which subsequently launched their careers into superstardom. In a recent Instagram video, Fleetwood praised the song and their partnership: “It’s magic then, magic now. What a thrill. Amen.”
Reissue or Reconciliation?
Many fans interpret these gestures as more than nostalgic—they believe Nicks and Buckingham might be hinting at an official reissue of Buckingham Nicks or even new collaborative music. Back in 2013, Buckingham said that he and Nicks had discussed the possibility of revisiting the album, and that Stevie “seems really into the idea.” Although Nicks has previously ruled out a Fleetwood Mac reunion without the late Christine McVie, who passed away in 2022, this renewed communication suggests a softer chapter in their decades‑long story.
While no official announcement has been made, the timing and content of these posts have rekindled excitement. Whether this signals the remastering of a long‑lost album, hints at new music, or merely reflects an emotional reconciliation, fans are watching closely—and hopeful.
