Steve Perry, the legendary former frontman of Journey, is opening up his personal archive—and it’s for a heartfelt cause. Fans now have a rare chance to own iconic memorabilia from Perry’s storied career, thanks to a special auction launched through Darkives Collectibles. From handwritten lyrics to signed gold and platinum records, the collection is packed with more than 50 one-of-a-kind items, many never made available to the public—until now.

Perry wrote:

“I’m excited to open up my personal archives and give fans who have supported me through the years a chance to own a piece of my musical journey.
“These pieces have been carefully stored for many years, and now I feel it’s the right time to pass them on from my hands to yours, to be enjoyed, remembered, and treasured in your own personal collections.”

Bidding for a Cause

What makes this auction extra special is where the proceeds are going. All the money raised will benefit wildfire victims in Altadena, California, through the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund. “All the proceeds from this archive sale will go to support victims of the Los Angeles fires with the help of Sweet Relief Musicians Fund,” Perry shared on Facebook.

The nonprofit offers support to career musicians and music industry workers struggling with health issues, disabilities, or financial hardship—especially timely given the devastating wildfires that have impacted many in the region.

Fan Favorites and Collector Gems

Some of the most exciting items up for grabs include Perry’s handwritten lyrics to the iconic “Don’t Stop Believin’,” personal cassettes and CDs, signed tour merchandise, and even a bass guitar. One fan-favorite item—a New York license plate reading “JRNEYFAN” that was tossed onstage at a New Jersey concert—has already drawn multiple bids, climbing past $1,100.
All items have been authenticated and graded, making this a dream come true for serious collectors.

The auction runs until 12 noon PT on Friday, June 13, so time is ticking for fans hoping to grab a piece of rock history. Perry closed his message with gratitude:

“Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey with me. Let’s help make a difference together.”
