Ozzy Osbourne’s Inability To Walk Won’t Stop Him For Reunion

Even though Ozzy Osbourne recently disclosed that he “can’t walk,” he is grateful to be alive. The metal legend is working hard to deliver a concert that fans will remember as he prepares for Black Sabbath’s eagerly awaited reunion show.

Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward will perform together for the first time in twenty years at the Back to the Beginning concert, which is scheduled for July 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham, England. Osbourne will also be performing in its entirety for the first time since 2018. Powerhouse acts like Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Alice in Chains, Halestorm, and others are on the event’s schedule.

‘I Can’t Walk, But I’m Still Alive’

Osbourne, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2020, spoke candidly about his health during his SiriusXM radio show. “I have made it to 2025. I can’t walk, but you know what I was thinking over the holidays? For all my complaining, I’m still alive,” he said. “I may be moaning that I can’t walk, but I look down the road and there’s people that didn’t do half as much as me and didn’t make it.”

Despite his physical struggles, Osbourne has no plans to give a half-hearted performance. In 2023, he told Rolling Stone UK, “I’m not going to get up there and do a half-hearted Ozzy looking for sympathy. What’s the fucking point in that? I’m not going up there in a fucking wheelchair.”

‘His Voice Is as Good as It’s Ever Been’

Even if Ozzy needs some assistance on stage, his wife Sharon reassured fans that his voice is still as strong as ever. “He’s very happy to be coming back and very emotional about this,” she told The Sun. “Parkinson’s is a progressive disease. It affects different parts of the body, and it’s affected his legs. But his voice is as good as it’s ever been.”

Iommi echoed the sentiment, calling the upcoming show “very emotional.” “It’s the end of an end, really,” he said. “We’ve all known each other for so long. And, yeah, it’s a great event and a great way to end it all.”
