New Claim Revives Long-Running Rumors About Freddie Mercury’s Private Life

A woman alleged to be the secret daughter of Freddie Mercury has died at the age of 48 following a long and painful battle with a rare form of cancer, closing one of the most mysterious chapters connected to the Queen frontman’s legacy.

Known publicly only as “B,” her death was confirmed in a statement issued by her husband, Thomas, who said she passed away peacefully after years of living with chordoma, a rare spinal cancer. He added that she leaves behind two sons, aged nine and seven. “B is now with her beloved and loving father in the world of thoughts,” the statement read. “Her ashes were scattered to the wind over the Alps.”

A Revelation That Shocked Queen Fans

B’s existence became public knowledge in 2025 with the release of Love, Freddie, a biography by Lesley Ann Jones. The book claimed that Mercury had fathered a child with a married woman and that her identity had been deliberately protected for decades. According to the biography, B was raised by another family but maintained a private relationship with Mercury, who reportedly visited her regularly until his death in 1991.

B also claimed that DNA testing confirmed Mercury was her father. She later lived in France and worked as a doctor, while remaining largely anonymous. Reports suggested that Mercury used affectionate nicknames for her and remained emotionally present despite his demanding global touring schedule.

Doubt, Devotion, and a Final Mission

Although Mercury is remembered as a gay icon, he had relationships with women, including longtime companion Mary Austin, who has expressed skepticism about B’s claim, saying it would be “astonishing” if it were true. Nevertheless, biographer Jones stood firmly by B, describing her as deeply committed to correcting what she believed were false narratives about Mercury’s life.

“I am devastated by the loss of this woman who became my close friend,” Jones said. “She was very ill throughout the four years that we worked together. But she was on a mission.”

In a statement shared before her death, B reflected on her private grief: “I cried and mourned my Dad, while fans all around the world mourned Freddie… I had to become an adult without him.”

Her passing adds another poignant footnote to the enduring legend of Freddie Mercury.
