Former Mötley Crüe Frontman John Corabi Unveils New Single “That Memory”

Society of Rock

John Corabi has released “That Memory,” the newest single from his upcoming solo album New Day, set for release on April 24 through Frontiers Music Srl. The song arrives alongside an official music video and offers listeners an early look at Corabi’s first full-length solo project made entirely of original material. Known for his time with Mötley Crüe and other rock acts, Corabi presents a more personal musical direction with this release.

The track began with a simple collaboration. Blackberry Smoke frontman Charlie Starr sent Corabi an early version of the song, which quickly gained attention during studio sessions. Producer Marti Frederiksen supported the idea immediately, and the team adjusted the key to better suit Corabi’s vocal range before recording the final version. “It’s my wife’s favorite from the record,” Corabi says. “Thank you Charlie Starr.”

Recording a Personal Album in Nashville

New Day was recorded in Nashville during the summer of 2025, marking an important step in Corabi’s long career. The album represents his first opportunity to present a complete solo statement built around new songs rather than collaborations or reinterpretations. Frederiksen, known for working with artists such as Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne, and Buckcherry, led the recording sessions and contributed heavily to the project.

Beyond production duties, Frederiksen added backing vocals, guitars, piano, and percussion across multiple tracks. The album draws inspiration from classic rock sounds of the late 1960s and 1970s, blending elements of soul and blues with straightforward rock arrangements. Rather than relying on heavy studio effects, the recordings focus on live performances and natural musical interaction between players.

A Strong Lineup of Collaborators

Corabi assembled a group of respected musicians to help shape the album’s sound. Richard Fortus of Guns N’ Roses performs lead guitar, while Paul Taylor, known for his work with Winger and Steve Perry, contributes piano, organ, and clavinet. Evan Frederiksen handles drums, bass, B3 organ, electric guitar, mandolin, and programming, adding versatility throughout the record. Charlie Starr also appears with guitar solos, reinforcing the collaborative spirit behind the project.

The album includes earlier singles “Cosi Bella (So Beautiful)” from 2021 and “Your Own Worst Enemy” from 2022, now placed within a full collection that reflects Corabi’s songwriting style over several years. Speaking about his goals, Corabi explained, “I wanted to put together an album of eclectic, organic songs reminiscent of the music I grew up listening to.” He added, “This is a 60s-70s sounding classic rock and roll record. Turn it up, and enjoy.”

A European tour supporting the album took place across February and March 2026, introducing audiences to new material ahead of release. Additional performances are scheduled through late spring and summer as Corabi continues promoting New Day, which officially arrives on April 24.
