The Foo Fighters are hitting the pause button on their performances, and it’s no surprise why. Frontman Dave Grohl recently revealed he welcomed a baby with a mistress, and now he’s prioritizing family time. A source told The Sun, “He wants to be at home and focus on earning back the trust of his family.” For Grohl and the band, “being on the road isn’t the best thing for any of them at the moment,” making a hiatus seems like the right move.
Foo Fighters Take a Break
It’s not just Grohl who needs some time away. His bandmates are also looking to reconnect with their families and “focus on regrouping.” The last couple of years have been tough for the band, with the loss of their beloved drummer Taylor Hawkins in March 2022, the passing of Grohl’s mother, and now the arrival of his new baby. The insider explained, “It’s been a turbulent few years.”
Band Cancels Soundside Music Festival Performance
This news follows the unexpected cancellation of the Foo Fighters’ performance at the Soundside Music Festival in Connecticut, which would have marked their first gig since Grohl’s shocking baby announcement.
The 55-year-old singer shared that he had welcomed a daughter outside his marriage to wife Jordyn Blum and is determined to be a “loving and supportive parent” to her. Grohl also expressed his love for his wife and their three daughters—Violet (18), Harper (15), and Ophelia (10)—and stated he’s working to “regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
Blum, who has been married to the rock star since August 2003, has been seen without her wedding ring, which has raised eyebrows. The Foo Fighters previously took a brief hiatus in 2022 after Hawkins’ tragic death in his hotel room before a concert in Colombia. Following that heartbreaking incident, they canceled their world tour, only to announce a return to the stage in December of the same year. For now, it looks like Grohl and the band are focusing on what truly matters—family and healing.
