Dave Navarro Paints Grim Future For Jane’s Addiction

Dave Navarro has made it clear: Jane’s Addiction is over—permanently. In a new interview with Guitar Player, the guitarist said “there’s no chance” the band will ever play together again after a meltdown during their 2024 Boston concert.
That show, which took place on September 13 at Leader Bank Pavilion, was supposed to be special. The band’s classic lineup had reunited after more than 14 years. But instead of a triumphant comeback, things fell apart fast. During the performance, frontman Perry Farrell reportedly assaulted Navarro onstage, bringing the tour—and the band—to a crashing halt.
Navarro Calls It His Worst Gig Ever
When asked to name the worst gig of his career, Navarro didn’t hesitate. He said:
“I have to speak in broad strokes here, because there are other individuals involved, and it’s still very tender and unresolved.
“There was an altercation onstage, and all the hard work and dedication and writing and hours in the studio, and picking up and leaving home and crisscrossing the country and Europe and trying to overcome my illness — it all came to a screeching halt and forever destroyed the band’s life. And there’s no chance for the band to ever play together again.”
From One of Their Best Tours to a Breaking Point
Navarro admitted that not all of the 2024 tour was bad. Some of the shows ranked among his favorites.
“I have to say that’s my least favorite gig,” he added, “without throwing animosity around, and without naming names and pointing fingers.”
He reflected fondly on the tour’s earlier European leg.
“We were getting along. There was no ego issue; it was just four guys making great music, just like we did in the beginning. It was just us on a stage, with people going fucking crazy.”
Now, it seems those moments are just memories.
