Lindsey Buckingham’s Alleged Stalker Nabbed

The woman accused of stalking and attacking former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham is now facing seven criminal charges in Los Angeles County, including four felonies. The case, which spans nearly five years, has shed light on the very real dangers that come with life in the public eye.

A Five-Year Nightmare That Kept Escalating

According to court documents, the harassment began as far back as late 2021. The accused, 54-year-old Michelle Dick, allegedly contacted Buckingham repeatedly over the years through threatening voicemails, aggressive messages to his wife on social media, and unannounced appearances outside the couple’s home.

What made the situation particularly disturbing was Michelle’s persistent claim that she is Buckingham’s biological daughter. The guitarist has firmly and repeatedly denied any connection to the woman. In documents filed with the court, Buckingham described one incident where Michelle confronted his wife and began making deeply unsettling claims about their alleged relationship. He wrote that the incident left both him and his wife genuinely frightened, especially given that Michelle knew their home address.

A detective assigned to the case described Michelle as someone she believed to be mentally unstable and potentially dangerous, a characterization that only added urgency to Buckingham’s plea for legal protection.

From Restraining Order to Full Criminal Charges

In late 2024, Buckingham successfully obtained a restraining order against Michelle after alleging she had been behind a disturbing swatting incident at his Brentwood home. According to court filings, Michelle allegedly called 911 and falsely reported that Buckingham’s son was in crisis inside the house and that gunshots had been heard. The false report resulted in a heavy police response and left Buckingham briefly detained while officers searched his property.

Despite the restraining order being in place, the alleged harassment did not stop. In March 2026, two separate incidents pushed the case to a breaking point. On March 19, Michelle allegedly used a vehicle as a weapon and vandalized Buckingham’s car. Days later on March 25, she allegedly followed him to a location in Santa Monica and threw an unknown substance at him before fleeing. Buckingham was not physically injured in the attack.

A Los Angeles County judge responded by issuing an arrest warrant for Michelle, with bail set at 300,000 dollars.

Seven Charges and What Comes Next

The criminal complaint filed against Michelle includes a serious list of counts. On the felony side, she faces charges of making criminal threats, assault with a deadly weapon involving a motor vehicle, felony vandalism of Buckingham’s vehicle, and a separate felony criminal threat charge tied to the March 25 incident. She also faces a misdemeanor battery charge for allegedly using physical force, as well as a stalking charge that covers the full multi-year span of alleged harassment.

Michelle later spoke to a Los Angeles television station and admitted to showing up at Buckingham’s home, though she claimed she was unaware a restraining order had been issued against her. She continued to maintain that Buckingham is her biological father.

For Buckingham, the legal proceedings come at a time when he has been looking ahead professionally. He recently shared on social media that he is one song away from finishing a new solo album and hinted at a possible reconnection with former bandmate Stevie Nicks following the reissue of their 1973 debut record together.
