According to the BBC, around 50,000 Oasis tickets for their upcoming U.K. reunion tour may be canceled due to ticketing rule violations. Despite 1.4 million tickets made available, over 10 million fans from 158 countries lined up to buy them, causing the shows to sell out quickly. Soon after, many tickets started popping up on resale sites at inflated prices, sparking concern from promoters Live Nation and SJM.

What Violations Took Place?

Fans were told they could only buy tickets through official sources like Ticketmaster and their resale partner, Twickets. However, some buyers used unauthorized resale sites to list tickets for much higher prices. Violations also included exceeding the four-ticket limit per household, and some buyers used multiple identities to purchase more tickets.

A spokesperson explained the motivation behind these strict conditions, saying, “These terms and conditions were successfully put in place to take action against secondary ticketing companies reselling tickets for huge profit. Only four percent of tickets have ended up on resale sites. Some major tours can see up to 20 percent of tickets appearing via the major unauthorized secondary platforms.” All involved in the tour strongly advised fans to avoid unauthorized resale sites to prevent purchasing fraudulent or canceled tickets.

Can Tickets from Unauthorized Sites Be Used?

With tickets bought outside the guidelines being canceled, secondary ticketing platform Viagogo told the BBC’s File on 4 that they still plan to sell these tickets. “Two percent of Oasis tickets are on Viagogo and StubHub,” said Matt Drew of Viagogo, adding, “We will continue to sell them in the way the regulator says we can.” Reselling tickets in the U.K. is legal if done properly, but issues may arise if canceled tickets leave fans without entry.

What Will Happen to Canceled Tickets?

Fans who believe their tickets were unfairly canceled can contact ticketing agents for review. Canceled tickets will go back on sale on Ticketmaster, and refunded purchases will be reassigned to new buyers using fresh barcodes. Currently, only the U.K. dates are impacted.

The Oasis reunion is exciting for fans, especially since Liam and Noel Gallagher are reuniting after their 2009 split. The 2025 tour includes additional North American and Australian dates, marking a global return for the iconic band.
