More Classic Albums Get Vinyl Treatment
After releasing their first four albums in high-fidelity vinyl last year, ZZ Top is following it up with a second box set. The new collection, From the Top: 1979–1990, includes five albums from one of the band’s most successful periods. It features Degüello (1979), El Loco (1981), Eliminator (1983), Afterburner (1985), and Recycler (1990). Each record is cut from the original stereo master tapes and pressed on 180-gram heavyweight vinyl for the best sound quality.
Only 3,000 individually numbered copies of the box set will be made, and fans can preorder now at Rhino.com.

Previous Set Sold Out Quickly
This new release follows the success of 2024’s From the Top: 1971–1976 box set, which reissued the band’s first five studio albums: ZZ Top’s First Album (1971), Rio Grande Mud (1972), Tres Hombres (1973), Fandango! (1975), and Tejas (1976). That collection quickly sold out, showing there’s still strong demand for ZZ Top’s classic work on vinyl.
Along with the vinyl release, ZZ Top is also heading back on tour. The Elevation tour resumes on August 1 at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, Idaho. The full tour begins the next day, August 2, in Sioux City, Iowa. For a full list of tour dates and cities, fans can visit the official website at ZZTop.com.
