Yes Brings Back a Classic Album

This fall, Yes will perform their 1971 album Fragile from start to finish as part of their Album Series. The record marked an important moment in the band’s history and became one of their most well-known releases.

The group includes guitarist Steve Howe, keyboardist Geoff Downes, singer Jon Davison, bassist Billy Sherwood, and drummer Jay Schellen. The tour will begin in October and stretch through mid-November, with more than 30 shows planned.

A Breakthrough Record

In addition to playing Fragile in full, Yes will include other songs from their long career. Released in the U.K. in November 1971 and in the U.S. in January 1972, Fragile became the band’s first album to reach the Top 10 in America. It peaked at No. 4, helped by songs like “Roundabout,” which became a Top 15 hit, along with “Long Distance Runaround” and “Heart of the Sunrise.”

The Fragile album was the first to feature the lineup that many fans consider the band’s strongest: Steve Howe, Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Rick Wakeman, and Bill Bruford.

Howe Reflects on Fragile

“All the band’s albums had a unique feel and approach,” Howe said in a press release about the tour.

“After The Yes Album, so many things came together, with [coproducer] Eddie Offord steering the proceedings. While the band focused on only four main songs with full arrangements, each of us wrote and designed a solo piece, which was Bill’s great idea. It’s fairly oddball, but we were at the height of our creativity, determined for success.”

Yes and Its Members Stay Active

Several former and current members of Yes have stayed busy. Rick Wakeman is planning a solo tour this July. Jon Anderson and the Band Geeks began a tour in April. The most recent Yes tour was Classic Tales of Yes in September 2024. Their latest studio album, Mirror to the Sky, came out in 2023.

Fall 2025 Tour Dates

Yes will start The Fragile Tour 2025 on October 1 in Wallingford, Connecticut. They will stop in cities like Atlanta, Denver, and Washington, D.C., before finishing in Reno, Nevada, on November 16.

Tickets for most dates go on sale June 13. Fans can visit the band’s official website for more details.

“[Fragile] gave us confidence, further than our own in-stock belief, we’d crafted this unusual but noticeable musical twist to rock and what later became prog,” Howe added.
