Wow! This performance of ‘With or Without You’ may be the best I’ve ever seen.

Bono pens the greatest love song of all time
I don’t think there is a single woman in this world that has not been overwhelmed by this song. The song embodies: discomfort, loneliness, and an honest state of vulnerability.
The song captures you, and with the first note- you’re taken in to a state of nostalgia and somehow instanty relate it to your life.
The lyrics are about relationships, but can be interpreted many ways. Written by Bono, he wanted to write a love song that dealt with real issues in relationships.
Bono explained that everybody in the group knows what the line “And you give yourself away” means: “It’s about how I feel in U2 at times – exposed.”
- “With or Without You” was voted best single of ’87 in a Rolling Stone magazine readers poll.
- The song also won an MTV Viewer’s Choice award in ’87.
- This was U2’s first #1 hit in the US. It was the first U2 single to do better in America than in England.
+With or Without You lyrics below+
See the stone set in your eyes
See the thorn twist in your side
I’ll wait for you
Sleight of hand and twist of fate
On a bed of nails she makes me wait
And I wait without you
With or without you
With or without you
Through the storm we reach the shore
You gave it all but I want more
And I’m waiting for you
With or without you
With or without you
I can’t live
With or without you
And you give yourself away
And you give yourself away
And you give
And you give
And you give yourself away
My hands are tied, my body bruised
She’s got me with
Nothing to win and
Nothing left to lose
And you give yourself away
And you give yourself away
And you give
And you give
And you give yourself away
With or without you
With or without you
I can’t live
With or without you
With or without you
With or without you
I can’t live
With or without you
With or without you
Ooooooooo
Ooooooooo
Ooooooooo
With or without you
With or without you
I can’t live
With or without you
With or without you
