A New Single with a Familiar Drive
Wolfgang Van Halen is making waves once again. The GRAMMY®-nominated musician, multi-instrumentalist, and producer has released the third single from his upcoming studio album, The End. Titled “I Really Wanna,” the track follows Mammoth’s Active Rock No. 1 hit “The End” and the recent single “The Spell,” further strengthening Wolfgang’s standing as one of hard rock’s most exciting solo artists.
“I Really Wanna” stands out as a funky, groove-driven rocker with Wolfgang’s unmistakable touch. Playing every instrument and recording every vocal himself, he delivers a performance that is both tight and engaging. The music video captures him inside the legendary 5150 studio—a place filled with Van Halen family history—as he works under the watchful eye of longtime collaborator and producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette. The single is available on all major streaming platforms, while the video gives fans a look at the creative process behind Mammoth’s latest music.
Details About The End
Scheduled for release on October 24 via BMG, The End will be Mammoth’s third full-length album. It continues Wolfgang’s commitment to writing every song and performing all instrumentation and vocals himself. Spanning 10 tracks and running just under 40 minutes, the record highlights his growth while staying true to the style that first captured fans’ attention.
From the hypnotic opener “One Of A Kind” to the infectious closer “All In Good Time,” the album explores a range of moods and sounds. Tracks like “Same Old Song,” “Happy,” and “Selfish” balance heavy riffs with melodic hooks, showing an artist who enjoys both raw rock power and catchy songwriting. It feels like a natural step forward from Mammoth’s earlier releases while still offering fresh surprises.
A Rising Solo Career
Mammoth first broke through in 2021 with the self-titled debut Mammoth WVH. That album entered the Billboard 200 at No. 12 and topped multiple charts, including Top Hard Rock Albums, Top Independent Albums, and Top Rock Albums. The single “Distance” climbed to No. 1 on rock radio and earned Wolfgang a GRAMMY® nomination for Best Rock Song, an impressive start for a debut effort.
Two years later, Mammoth II confirmed his staying power. It debuted in the Top 5 of the Billboard Top Album Sales chart and returned to No. 1 on Top Hard Rock Albums. Critics praised his growth as both a songwriter and instrumentalist, while Mammoth toured globally with acts like Metallica, Pantera, and Foo Fighters, and headlined sold-out shows under their own name.
Live Performances and Creative Videos
Wolfgang’s live presence has matched his studio success. He performed on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!, played at the MusiCares 2024 gala honoring Jon Bon Jovi, and joined the celebration for Ozzy Osbourne’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame® induction.
His visual storytelling has also drawn attention. The debut album’s lead single came with a cinematic video, a playful remake of the cult film From Dusk ‘Til Dawn, directed by Robert Rodriguez and Greg Nicotero. Featuring cameos from Danny Trejo, Slash, Myles Kennedy, and Wolfgang’s mother Valerie Bertinelli, the video has earned more than five million views, highlighting Mammoth’s creative range.
