Why Don Henley Mocked Robert Plant’s Vocals

Years ago, Robert Plant made it clear that a Led Zeppelin reunion wasn’t in the cards. But along the way, he took a cheeky swipe at the Eagles, saying their ongoing tours were driven by boredom.

“Do you know why the Eagles said they’d reunite when ‘hell freezes over,’ but they did it anyway and kept touring? It’s not because they were paid a fortune… It’s because they’re bored. I’m not bored,” Plant quipped.

That remark didn’t sit well with Don Henley, the Eagles’ vocalist and drummer.

“I’m Never Bored,” Says Henley

In a candid response to the New Zealand Herald, Henley set the record straight. Henley stated:

“No, I am never bored.
“The truth is, we enjoy doing it. It’s hard work, especially for gentlemen of our age, but the fact is it’s a fantastic job. It’s a wonderful way to make a living, see the world, and travel with our kids.”

Henley didn’t stop there. He even took a playful jab at Plant, suggesting what might be holding back a Zeppelin reunion.

“I really wish Led Zeppelin would get back together because they were one of the greatest bands of all time. I think maybe Robert is worried about hitting those notes. He may not be able to unbutton his shirt anymore.”

Dreaming of a Dual Tour

While the exchanges between Henley and Plant showed a bit of competition, it’s hard not to dream about a joint tour featuring both the Eagles and Led Zeppelin. Fans can only imagine what a collaboration between these iconic rock legends would look like.

Henley and the Eagles remain focused on their own musical journey, proving that real passion fueled their legendary careers. Whether the two bands might still come up with something in the future together, who knows? But one thing’s clear—Henley’s not letting Plant’s comments hit a sour note.
