Watch Toni Cornell Cover “Hunger Strike” By Temple Of The Dog
It’s Beautifully Done
Chris Cornell’s 15-year old daughter Toni performs an acoustic cover of Temple of the Dog’s “Hunger Strike” at LiveXLive’s Music Lives digital music festival over the weekend. The event aimed to raise money for the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund which helps support artists and music professionals who are struggling financially because of the pandemic.
Performing in her dad’s home studio, she said before launching into the moving number: “I’m sitting in my dad’s studio during this crazy time and I’m going to sing one of my favourite songs for you. I love you daddy and I hope I do this some justice.” In her Instagram, Toni wrote: “Music is the greatest healer and the most powerful way to bring people together especially during tragedy. If my dad were here, I know he would have been the first to donate his time and effort.”
She also added, “On behalf of the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation we are donating $50,000 to @MusiCares for its Covid relief efforts. This is for you daddy and all your fans who have helped lift us up and who continue to keep the music alive.”
