Robert Plant and Alison Krauss stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Friday to celebrate their new collaborative project, “Raise the Roof.” It’s their first album together in 14 years — the follow-up to 2007’s Grammy Album of the Year-winning “Raising Sand.”

The pair is set to embark on a trek in 2022 in support of the record. They haven’t toured together in 11 years.

After performing “Can’t Let Go” and “Trouble With My Love”, they then headed to the Country Music Hall of Fame to talk to CBS Mornings about their latest project.

“It’s tough, singing what they call harmonies, was always a but a challenge to me. But I cracked it,” Plant admitted. Before Krauss, the only other female artist Plant had a duet with was Fairport Convention singer Sandy Denny for Led Zeppelin’s “Battle of Evermore.”

“I’m having to learn stuff that isn’t natural to me,” he added. “Sometimes, it’s not easy, but it’s doable.”

“We wanted it to move,” Krauss said in a statement about the new LP. “We brought other people in, other personalities within the band, and coming back together again in the studio brought a new intimacy to the harmonies.”
