Metallica took the stage on Thursday, April 27th, marking their inaugural performance of the year and kicking off their worldwide M72 tour in promotion of 72 Seasons.

Metallica graced the stage of the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam for an epic concert. This enormous soccer stadium can hold over 56,000 people. It was their first performance at the venue since June 11, 2019, when they rocked the stage during their WorldWired tour in support of their album Hardwired…to Self-Destruct, released in 2016.

The band has unveiled a professionally-filmed video capturing their electrifying live rendition of “Screaming Suicide,” as their dedicated fans anxiously anticipate their upcoming concert in Paris, France on May 17.

During this performance, Metallica introduced the 72 Seasons track to their live repertoire, and they also performed two additional songs from their latest album, namely “Lux Æterna” and “Sleepwalk My Life Away.” The latter song made its onstage debut as well.

In keeping with their customary approach, the renowned band has once again captured every captivating moment of their electrifying live show, ensuring that their loyal fans have the opportunity to experience it in its entirety.

True to form, they are offering this remarkable performance for download, streaming, and purchase, ensuring that enthusiasts can enjoy it in whichever way suits their preferences best. By adhering to their tried-and-true tradition, Metallica continues to delight and engage their dedicated fan base by providing a comprehensive and immersive musical experience.

As pledged, Metallica made a swift comeback to the arena for the second night of the M72 tour, precisely 48 hours after the tour commenced. Impressively, they adhered to their promise of presenting an entirely fresh setlist without duplicating any songs.

During the second evening, three more tracks from the album 72 Seasons were played, specifically the title song, “If Darkness Had a Son,” and the debut of “You Must Burn!” Metallica also delighted the crowd with less frequently performed live songs including “Leper Messiah,” “Until It Sleeps,” and “The Call of Ktulu.”

Metallica is scheduled to perform in various European cities before heading to the United States. Their initial shows in America will take place on August 4th and 6th at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
