A Quick Trip Down Memory Lane

Led Zeppelin played at the Sam Houston Coliseum in Houston, TX, USA on August 26, 1971. The show was originally scheduled a day before on August 25 but was moved. According to the announcement, “A spokeman for Concerts West, promoter of the appearance, said the well-known rock group’s entire load of equipment is stuck in Portland, OR, and cannot be transported to Houston in time for tonight’s performance. The show will go on Thursday & all tickets for tonight’s show will be honored.”

And in this particular show, Led Zeppelin tore through their set for two hours – proving to everyone that they were indeed one of the best live acts of the ’70s. As expected, Robert Plant brought the house down with his insanely powerful vocals. And of course, the rest of the band displayed their virtuosity with every number.

Check out a 16mm footage of their concert.
