Check Out The Album’s First Single

It was back in 2018 when Wanda Jackson first announced a collaboration with Joan Jett. There has been no update until now. The new album is titled “Encore” and it’s produced by Jett and Jett’s own producer, Kenny Laguna. It arrives on August 20 and features duets with several musical guests like Jett herself, Elle King, Angaleena Presley of Pistol Annies and Candi Carpenter.

“This project is one of the most personal pieces I have ever released,” Jackson wrote on her social media page. “I hope y’all love it as much as I do!”

Jackson also dropped its first single – “It Keeps Right On A Hurtin’”. You can listen to it below and let us know what you think.

Jackson rose to prominence in the mid-1950s and her success continued throughout the 1960s. She’s best known for being one of the first popular female rockabilly singers, and one of the first female rock ‘n roll artists. With this, she helped paved the way for several other female rockers such as Jett. As such, Jackson is often dubbed as the “Queen of Rockabilly” or the “First Lady of Rockabilly”.

On March 27, 2019, Jackson announced that she’s retiring from performing.
