I dare you to watch this video of Van Halen performing ‘Dreams’ and not smile! Not only is this a great song, but Van Halen’s energy and excitement are infectious. I mean really – Sammy Hagar is doing jumping jacks during the song’s intro! Even the drummer rocking a neck brace is having a great time up there.

‘Dreams’ is one of the first tracks featuring Sammy Hagar as lead singer of Van Halen.

I think that a lot of people forget how well Sammy Hagar sings! He’s got a massive voice to match his massive personality and massive stage presence, and while he’s no David Lee Roth in terms of quirkiness, Sammy is definitely a force to be reckoned with.

While ‘Dreams’ wasn’t as massive a hit as other Van Halen classics, it’s still a staple at Van Halen concerts and a well-loved favorite.

It’s definitely one of our favorites, and one of their absolute best performances with Sammy Hagar leading the charge!
