Aerosmith’s Tom Hamilton is ready to rock with a new band named Close Enemies. The Aerosmith bassist is back in action and they’re gearing up for their first show next month in Nashville.

Hamilton’s Announcement on X

Hamilton took to X (formerly Twitter) to break the news. He wrote:

“Hey, I need to tell you something about a band I’m playing with called Close Enemies.
“We have a bunch of good songs recorded. We’re going to release one soon. Meanwhile, we’re doing a show in Nashville on October 11 at a place called Eastside Bowl. Please come!!”

In an interview with Guitar World, Hamilton shared his excitement for the new project while also reflecting on the end of Aerosmith’s touring days. He admitted it was “a punch in the gut” but added, “Maybe someday we can do something again, but it won’t be a tour.” For now, Close Enemies is keeping him busy.

“We’ve recorded a bunch of killer songs and we’re getting closer to deciding how we’re going to put it out. Can’t wait!”

Meet the Members of Close Enemies

Close Enemies isn’t just any band—it’s a supergroup of rock veterans. Hamilton explained to AARP that he’s joined forces with his longtime bass tech, Trace Foster, on guitar, alongside Peter Stroud, who’s been with Sheryl Crow for 25 years. Drummer Tony Brock, known for his work with Rod Stewart and The Babys, brings his experience to the mix. The band’s lyricist is Gary Stier and frontman Chasen Hampton is a talented vocalist who, according to Hamilton, “really made the songs come to life.”

Reflecting on the group’s chemistry, Hamilton said:

“All of these guys are great musicians, and it’s an honor and a challenge to be part of it all. I’m looking forward to seeing how people like it. I think they’ll be pleasantly amazed!”
