At just 7 years old, Katia Kuziakina of Kyiv, Ukraine is well on her way to greatness and as far as we’re concerned, just might be the next great rock drummer if this performance is anything to go by! Jamming from the privacy of her home and surrounded by pictures she’s drawn and colored in between hosting mini rock shows for her family, Katia has become a viral sensation with her stunning take on “Накрило” (or, “Nakrilo”) by Ukrainian rockers Mad Heads that shows her doing an absolutely fantastic job of doing what drummers call “playing in the pocket”.

Fun Fact: Katia’s video of her drumming along to Mad Heads went so viral, the band actually asked her to join them onstage at a show soon after!

As precise and on time as her playing is, it’s hard to imagine that she’s only got a year of drumming under her belt, thanks to her super attentive dad who noticed her talent a year ago after catching her drumming on the family coffee table with a set of chopsticks and taking into account that she’s never had formal lessons, the fact that she’s such a sensational musician at the tender age of 7 speaks to a talent she was born with and that will surely take her to some pretty exciting places.
