On July 5, thousands of fans filled the streets of Birmingham to celebrate Ozzy Osbourne — a farewell concert that turned into an emotional high note in his legendary career. That night, Ozzy joined Black Sabbath one last time, fulfilling a dream decades in the making. What no one knew was that it would be his final time on stage. Just two weeks later, the Prince of Darkness passed away at 76.
Among the performers was Yungblud, who took the stage to cover “Changes,” unaware of the emotional weight it would carry only days later. The moment stayed with him — and he vowed to make the song part of every show from then on.
“You’ve Been My North Star”
In the days following Ozzy’s passing, Yungblud posted a raw, heartfelt tribute on Instagram. “I will never forget you,” he wrote. “You will be in every single note I sing and with me every single time I walk on stage.”
As the reality of the loss began to sink in, he returned with more thoughts. Sharing footage from his performance, he added:
“I’m trying to compute the last couple days and honestly I’m absolutely fucking shattered. You’ve been my North Star… from being misunderstood as a kid to feeling ‘too much’ in my career.”
A Legacy That Lives On
Yungblud expressed deep gratitude to Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, saying their support helped him find his place in music.
“You gave me a path to run down when others turned away. You showed me it’s beautiful to be different.”
After the show, he officially released his version of “Changes,” pledging proceeds to charity. But the deeper promise was personal.
“To sing this song for you… to a crowd that adored you… was the greatest honor of my life,” he wrote. “I’ll play it every night, for the rest of mine.”
Fans responded with love — one declaring, “You wear the crown now, kid.”
