Woodstock, 1969

The final track on their iconic rock opera Tommy, The Who’s ‘See Me, Feel Me’ was performed at Woodstock just as the sun was rising on the third morning of the festival in 1969. Their performance helped launch Roger Daltrey’s career as a sex symbol and introduced The Who to their American audience, who loved them immediately!

‘See Me, Feel Me’ was a fitting choice to close out the band’s set at Woodstock; a largely positive experience celebrating life and the countercultures that spawned some of the most amazing music the world would ever see, Woodstock meshed well with the song’s message of unification and hope.

The message of unification and hope in this song was inspired by Meher Baba, a guru Pete Townshend was following.

Of all the performances at Woodstock, The Who’s performance is undoubtedly one of our favorites and one of the most iconic from those magical three days. The combination of positive vibes put out at the festival and by the band with this stunning performance of ‘See Me, Feel Me’ made for a perfect storm that no one would ever forget!

See Me
Feel Me
Touch Me
Heal Me
See Me
Feel Me
Touch Me
Heal Me
Listening to you, I get the music
Gazing at you, I get the heat
Following you, I climb the mountain
I get excitement at your feet
Right behind you, I see the millions
On you, I see the glory
From you, I get opinion
From you, I get the story
Listening to you, I get the music
Gazing at you, I get the heat
Following you, I climb the mountain
I get excitement at your feet
Right behind you, I see the millions
On you, I see the glory
From you, I get opinion
From you, I get the story
