Postponements and New Dates
The Who have officially announced rescheduled dates for their recently postponed shows. Last month, the legendary band led by Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend canceled concerts at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in South Philadelphia and Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City due to illness. The South Philly show was called off only hours before it was set to begin.
Now, the group has confirmed new performances as part of their The Song Is Over: North American Farewell Tour. The South Philadelphia concert will take place next Wednesday, September 10, at the newly renamed arena, followed by Atlantic City on September 12. Fans who held onto their tickets wonโt need to worryโall original tickets will be honored for the new dates.
The Whoโs Philadelphia History
The Whoโs connection with Philadelphia stretches back decades. They first performed in the city in 1967, opening for Hermanโs Hermits at the Civic Center. Two years later, in 1969, the band delivered a full live performance of Pete Townshendโs rock opera Tommy at the original Electric Factory, just days after the albumโs release.
More recently, the group has returned to the city multiple times. In 2019, they performed at Citizens Bank Park, and in 2022 they played the South Philadelphia arena when it was still known as the Wells Fargo Center.

Current Tour and Lineup Changes
Despite their age, the band continues to perform for massive crowds across North America. Since the Philadelphia and Atlantic City postponements, The Who have gone on to play Boston, Jones Beach, Manhattan, and Toronto.
This tour also comes with a notable lineup change. Drummer Scott Devours has stepped in after Zak Starkey, Ringo Starrโs son, was dismissed, rehired, and then dismissed again earlier this spring.
