Make You Heart Sing
Performing hit “Wild Thing” at the Marquee in 1973, The Troggs bring on one of the greatest rockin love songs of all time to life. Written by songwriter Chip Taylor, “Wild Thing” was actually inspired by Elvis Presley’s “Heartbreak Hotel” and has been attempted to be covered by several bands like Jordan Christopher & The Wild Ones, Cheap Trick and The Hardly Worthit Players.
Interesting Fact: The style of music exemplified in this song became known as “Caveman Rock.” The Troggs is short for “troglodyte” (meaning “cave dweller”), which helped bolster this image.
Although Chip’s words were passed around quite a bit, the Troggs were the only group that was ever able to take the lyrics and message of love to the top of the charts at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1966.
Telling the story of a man compelled in desperate love and lust, “Wild Thing” has become a Hallmark love song with zazz and spunk and is the only #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 that was offered on two labels simultaneously.

Wild thing
You make my heart sing
You make everything groovy
Wild thing
Wild thing, I think I love you
But I wanna know for sure
Come on and hold me tight
I love you
Wild thing
You make my heart sing
You make everything groovy
Wild thing
Wild thing, I think you move me
But I wanna know for sure
So come on and hold me tight
You move me
Wild thing
You make my heart sing
You make everything groovy
Wild thing
Oh, come on, wild thing
Shake it, shake it, wild thing
