There’s no shortage of rock biopics out there. From Walk the Line to Bohemian Rhapsody, fans have gotten a taste of the wild lives behind the music. But some major names in classic rock still haven’t had their stories told on the big screen. Here are four legendary rockers who seriously need a biopic—ASAP.

Ozzy Osbourne: The Prince of Darkness on the Big Screen
Good news for Black Sabbath fans—an Ozzy Osbourne biopic is apparently still in the works. The project was first announced years ago, and despite the heavy metal icon’s recent passing, it sounds like Sony is moving ahead. According to reports, a biopic about Ozzy Osbourne and his widow, Sharon Osbourne, is still in the works at Sony. With a life story that’s packed with insane highs and heartbreaking lows, Ozzy’s film could be nothing short of a wild ride. “I can’t even begin to imagine who could play Ozzy well. But I do know that a dramatization of his life story was a wild ride from start to finish.”

David Crosby: The Rebel Poet of Rock
David Crosby’s passing in 2023 left a massive hole in the hearts of music lovers. From The Byrds to Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, he helped shape entire genres like folk rock and psychedelia. But it wasn’t just his music that made waves. Crosby was also known for being funny and, at times, dramatic in terms of very public beefs he had with others, especially Neil Young. A film could explore both the genius and the chaos that made him unforgettable.

Neil Young: The Quiet Legend
Speaking of Neil Young—why hasn’t Hollywood jumped on his story yet? Bob Dylan got one. It’s only natural that one of the greatest folk rock icons alive today would have a solid biopic made about his life. From Buffalo Springfield to CSNY and his solo years, there’s no shortage of incredible moments to explore.

Layne Staley: Grunge’s Most Haunting Voice
He unquestionably has the most haunting voice. His life was full of raw emotion, struggle, and unforgettable music. While a biopic about Staley would no doubt be tragic, it’s a story that deserves to be told. There are virtually countless stories out there about him that would be crazy to see in a movie.
