Aside from being iconic rock stars, The Beatles were also car enthusiasts with a taste for the unique and the luxurious. The fame and money came with the freedom to splurge on some pretty incredible rides. And we know it, their cars are almost as famous as their music. Here’s a look at the four Beatles and their most iconic wheels.

Paul McCartney’s Classic Aston Martin

Paul McCartney’s 1965 Aston Martin DB6 is one of the coolest cars in the Beatles’ collection. Not only was it a stylish 4.0-liter beauty, but Paul had it customized with a Philips record player. Only 1,023 of this model were ever made, making it a rare gem. When it was auctioned in 2012, it sold for a jaw-dropping £1.7 million.

Paul also had an Austin-Healey 3000, which sparked some conspiracy theories during the “Paul is dead” hoax. But as we all know, Paul was very much alive—and still driving in style!

John Lennon’s Psychedelic Rolls-Royce

John Lennon’s Rolls-Royce Phantom was as colorful and eccentric as the man himself. He bought the car in 1965 and had it fitted with a TV, fridge, and even a double bed—talk about comfort on the road! But the car really turned heads when it was painted in wild psychedelic colors in 1967. It became a symbol of the counterculture and a favorite tour vehicle for the band.

George Harrison and Ringo Starr’s Cars

George Harrison, known for his love of all things fast and flashy, had a prized Aston Mini that was originally a gift from the Beatles’ manager, Brian Epstein. After a psychedelic paint job, it became one of the most iconic cars of the era, even appearing in Magical Mystery Tour. Later, George splurged on a McLaren F1 in 1994, which is still in the family today.

Ringo Starr had his share of wild moments too. His 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280 SC was involved in a serious accident in the early ’80s. Ringo and his passenger, Barbara Bach, escaped with just minor injuries, but the car’s wreckage was so dramatic that it became a piece of rock-and-roll history.

For the Beatles, cars were a reflection of their different personalities. These legendary autos will always be a part of the Beatles’ story and pop culture for that matter.
