The Bob Dylan-inspired film A Complete Unknown has made a huge splash in Hollywood, racking up eight Oscar nominations, including the coveted Best Picture. Here’s a closer look at the movie’s achievements and competition in each category:

A Complete Unknown is in the running for Best Picture, competing with heavy hitters like Anora, The Brutalist, Conclave, Dune: Part Two, Emilia Perez, I’m Still Here, Nickel Boys, The Substance, and Wicked.

Actor in a Leading Role
Timothée Chalamet, who portrayed Dylan in the film, has earned a nod for Best Actor. He faces tough competition from Adrien Brody (The Brutalist), Colman Domingo (Sing Sing), Ralph Fiennes (Conclave), and Sebastian Stan (The Apprentice).

Actress and Actor in Supporting Roles

The film’s sound team—Tod A. Maitland, Donald Sylvester, Ted Caplan, Paul Massey, and David Giammarco—is competing against teams from Dune: Part Two, Emilia Perez, Wicked, and The Wild Robot.
