This coming April 28, Stephen Stills will be releasing his album, Stephen Stills Live at Berkeley 1971.

The upcoming album contains 14 never-before-heard songs that were recorded over the course of two evenings on August 20 and 21, 1971, at Berkeley Community Theater in Berkeley, California.

With backings from Memphis Horns, Stills can be seen performing both a solo acoustic set and an electric set at Berkeley. His performances singing two songs with David Crosby, “You Don’t Have to Cry” and “The Lee Shore” are also included. Stills said in a statement:

“The intimacy of the Berkeley Community Theater seemed to serve as a focal point between the audience and the energy surrounding the social climate of the day. It was my first tour as a solo artist and these shows were raucous and unrestrained, captured here in these recordings.”

A deluxe edition of Stephen Stills Live at Berkeley 1971 will also be available which features four 8×10 images by photographer Henry Diltz taken during Stills’ first solo tour and a numbered limited-edition self-portrait framed lithograph in addition to the album’s standard CD, LP, and digital editions.

Pre-orders for all formats are now available.
