In a soulful showdown that left coaches speechless and Snoop Dogg in tears, two powerhouse vocalists delivered one of the most memorable performances of the season.

Season 28 of The Voice is already proving to be a standout, and not just because of Snoop Dogg’s first stint in the iconic red chair. In a recent Battle Round, Team Snoop contestants Yoshihanaa and Natalia Albertini lit up the stage with a performance that drew praise from all four coaches—and left their coach visibly emotional.

The twist? Contestants were asked to select their own duet partners, and Yoshihanaa and Natalia didn’t hesitate to team up.

“I’m looking for someone who I can complement and who will complement me,” Yoshihanaa said. “That perfect person is Natalia.”

Rehearsals Bring the Heat — and the Tears

Snoop selected the Carole King classic “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” popularized by Aretha Franklin, as the duet for the pair. What followed in rehearsals was a soulful blend of strength, emotion, and raw vocal power that stunned the rapper-turned-coach.

“They whipped it, flipped it, and dipped it like they were supposed to,” Snoop said after their first run-through.

The performance even moved him to tears.

“I just knew they would bring the best out of each other,” he added. “My left eye won’t stop crying, but it’s tears of joy.”

When asked how he’d choose between the two, Snoop jokingly told guest advisor Lizzo, “The gangster holy ghost will help me make the right decision.”

A Show-Stopping Battle — and a Surprise Save

The emotional charge only intensified during the live Battle. The two singers delivered a performance that earned them a standing ovation and left the coaches visibly impressed.

“That’s why we watch the show,” commented Niall Horan.

Reba McEntire leaned toward Yoshihanaa, noting her impressive vocal range, while Michael Bublé favored Natalia for her tone and vocal quality.

Snoop, overwhelmed with emotion, addressed his singers.

“Y’all made me shed a tear. Lizzo gave you so much information and y’all used it. I was crying because I can only keep one of y’all and my heart is broke.”

In the end, Snoop selected Yoshihanaa as the Battle winner, later telling the cameras, “She had the most powerful performance and showed the most potential to grow.”

But the moment that followed caught everyone off guard. Just as Natalia was thanking her coach and leaving the stage, Snoop slammed his save button—his one and only for the season.

“That performance was so strong, so heartfelt,” he explained. “She was too good to be on somebody else’s team and too good to go home.”

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC.
