A New Tribute Album for Rock Legends

Slash, Halestorm, Blackberry Smoke, Black Stone Cherry, The Struts, Dirty Honey, and other well-known rock acts have come together for a special project. They are recording cover songs for a new tribute album honoring the classic band Bad Company.

Titled Can’t Get Enough: A Tribute to Bad Company, the album is set to release on October 24. That’s just two weeks before Bad Company will be officially inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. The event will take place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California.

Original Members Join the Project

Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke, founding members of Bad Company, are also part of the album. They appear on a new version of “Seagull,” originally the final track from the band’s 1974 album Bad Company. They’re joined by Joe Elliott and Phil Collen of Def Leppard on the recording. Rodgers also performs with Halestorm on their version of “Shooting Star.”

Joe Elliott shared his excitement, saying, “I’ve loved Bad Company since the very beginning, a phenomenal combination of two of my favourite bands, Free and Mott The Hoople, what’s not to love?! What a privilege it is for myself and Phil to cover one of my favourite Bad Company songs with Paul and Simon! Wow!”

Rodgers Reacts to the Covers

Rodgers shared his thoughts about hearing these modern versions of Bad Company’s songs. “It has been very interesting listening to other musicians interpret our songs,” he said. “I spent time listening and found myself smiling a lot. I am quietly impressed that these artists wanted to pay tribute to Bad Company. We are thankful that everyone played from every inch of their hearts on this release. You can hear it.”

The First Single by The Struts

The first track released from the album is “Rock ‘N’ Roll Fantasy,” covered by The Struts. The song is paired with a video filmed at Bob Clearmountain’s Apogee Studios in Santa Monica, California.

The Struts’ lead singer, Luke Spiller, expressed how much this project means to them. “We are so thrilled for the British music legends, Bad Company, to finally be getting their well-earned induction to the Rock Hall,” he said. “It’s been a real pleasure to pay homage to them with our cover of Rock ‘N’ Roll Fantasy, and I hope they enjoy it as much as we loved recording it.”
