Stewart Hits The Road With 80s Icon Cyndi Lauper

If you’ve already got summer plans, break ’em – Sir Rod Stewart is hitting the road this summer for an 18-date romp across North America where, with the help of 80s pop icon Cyndi Lauper, he’ll be finding new and exciting ways to bring you the classics you’ve loved for decades.

Wait…Rod Stewart and Cyndi Lauper? Yep, you read that right: the duo’s friendship dates back to 1985 when they performed at Commitment To Life, a concert benefitting and organized by the AIDS Project Los Angeles and their summer 2017 finds both Stewart and Lauper touring in support of brand new albums – Stewart’s 2015 album Another Country and Lauper’s 2016 country album Detours. Judging by their 1985 duet of “People Get Ready,” “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” and “Time After Time” at Commitment To Life, fans can surely expect these two to share a mic once more this summer.

The tour kicks off July 6th in Hollywood, Florida and runs until August 12th when the big event wraps in Houston, Texas; tickets go on sale January 27th via LiveNation but if you’re a Citi cardmember, you’re in luck – you have access to a pre-sale that begins Jan. 24 at 10AM local time.
